Who has had experience with those automatic cat litter boxes?

Do you think they are worth the extra cost? Does your cat/cats like it? Are they afraid of the motor? Do you use the regular or the clumping litter withit? Thanks in advance. I have been pondering getting one, but I am afraid my prissy cat will not like it.

been there done that. they are not worth the money, they cost alot of money. they break easy, they make alot of noise and many people return it. keep to the regular litter box. the automatic ones are alot of work. at night they make alot of noise. cats go in and out to watch it so it makes noise. also you have to use a special litter. the litter clumps up
Save your money, the simple tray is easy to clean.
I use the Litter Maid which is an automated cat box which scoops up the mess and places it in a plastic receptacle which you remove and replace every week or so. It keeps things un-smelly and you only have one concentrated day of dealing with the "presents" rather than on a daily basis. I love it and my cat uses it just fine. I don’t like the "clumping" litter, because after a while there’s nothing in there but clumps, and they don’t move through very well. The only way to know if your particular cat is going to adjust to it is to try it yourself, unfortunately.
I have, but use the regular litter not the clumping kind it bogs up the works, It works great..I wouldn’t have the old fashion kind again.
I bought one and my cats hated it I think the noise scared them. It was a waste of money for me.
i loved the littermaid automatic cat pan. however, i have a male cat that urinated on the sensor not once but twice, i ended up having to return both pans and going back to the hooded pan. good luck
PS-none of my cats were afraid of it..
